House? Ravers? What?

Unfortunately, according to some friends of mine, Raves are having a bit of a come back. Glowsticks, "E", hot-topic bondage pants, etc. Like a Lucio Fulci film with lazer beams, the rave is back from the dead, in all of its mind-numbing glory.

However, not all is lost.

Apparently, House music has decided to blow up recently as well. It is very interesting to see a mere pulse processed in so many different ways by all of these artists.

I have mainly been sticking to KOMPAKT records exclusively, so if anyone has other suggestions, put them in my comments.

For now, check out this stuff:

This first song is by the Field (formerly "Fields"). It is from KOMPAKT's most recent "Pop Ambient" compilation.

My Bloody Valentine + House Music =

The Field - Kappsta

Justus Köhncke is about as gay as they come...so, put yo hands up.

Justus Köhncke - Hotlove

Jürgen Paape is one of the co-owners of KOMPAKT, and this song is just a complete banger...

Jürgen Paape - So Weit Wie Noch Nie.mp3

P.S. -- If you don't have The Field's "From Here We Go Sublime", then get it. Easily one of the years best offerings.
